What responsive residential solar service should look like

Solar combines construction, electrical work, utility rules, financing choices and long-term equipment ownership. Good service makes those moving parts easier to understand. It does not depend on pressure, vague savings promises or a proposal that only makes sense while a salesperson is explaining it.

LuNova Solar aims to give Illinois homeowners a written, property-specific starting point and enough information to compare options thoughtfully. Estimates are based on the information available at the time and should identify the assumptions that can materially change the outcome, including electricity use, future energy needs, roof conditions, utility rules, system production and payment structure.

Proposal clarity

A proposal should state the system size, estimated annual production, expected offset, major equipment, payment terms and important assumptions. PPA or loan proposals should make rates, escalators, term length and ownership responsibilities easy to locate.

Utility-aware answers

Ameren, ComEd, CWLP and municipal utilities do not all apply identical billing or interconnection rules. Recommendations should reflect the homeowner’s actual utility instead of treating every Illinois property the same.

Project updates

Homeowners should know the current stage, what is waiting on an outside party and what action—if any—is required from them. When a date changes, the reason and next dependency should be explained plainly.

After-installation direction

System documentation, monitoring access, warranty information and the service path should not become a mystery after installation. The responsible parties and next contacts should be identified in the project documents.

LuNova’s communication standard

  • Education before commitment and space to compare options.
  • Written explanations for major costs, assumptions and tradeoffs.
  • No guarantee that every home will save the same amount.
  • No recommendation made solely from an average monthly bill.
  • Clear separation between estimates and final engineering or utility approval.
  • Current official sources when programs, tax rules or utility policies matter.
