2. Purpose of the Website
LuNova Solar provides information and services related to residential solar energy, including solar education, preliminary system-design information, energy-use analysis, solar production estimates, potential savings estimates, financing information, battery-storage information, incentive information, and connections with solar installers, financing providers, utilities, technology providers, and other service providers.
Information displayed on the website is intended to assist homeowners in evaluating potential solar-energy options.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in a separate written agreement, information provided through the website does not constitute a binding offer, final engineering design, installation contract, financing commitment, guarantee, warranty, tax advice, legal advice, or guarantee of energy savings.
3. Preliminary Solar Estimates
LuNova may provide preliminary estimates concerning:
- Recommended solar-system size;
- Number of solar panels;
- Estimated annual electricity production;
- Estimated solar offset;
- Historical or projected electricity usage;
- Electricity costs;
- Potential utility-bill savings;
- Battery-storage requirements;
- Roof suitability;
- Solar-resource availability;
- Financing payments;
- PPA or lease payments;
- Available incentives; and
- Estimated project economics.
These results are estimates.
Actual system performance and financial results may differ materially from preliminary estimates.
Factors affecting actual results can include weather, shading, roof orientation, roof pitch, equipment specifications, system degradation, utility rules, electricity rates, household energy consumption, future electric loads, system downtime, equipment availability, interconnection requirements, local permitting requirements, financing terms, incentive availability, installation conditions, and other factors outside LuNova's control.
4. Energy Consumption and System Sizing
LuNova may use historical electricity consumption and other information supplied by a homeowner to estimate an appropriate solar-system size.
LuNova may also consider reasonably anticipated future energy consumption where information about such consumption is provided or incorporated into the analysis.
Future energy use may include changes associated with electric vehicles, heat pumps, electric appliances, home additions, pools, hot tubs, additional occupants, battery systems, electrification, or other changes.
No specific solar offset percentage is guaranteed merely because it appears in a preliminary estimate.
The appropriate system size and target offset may vary based on the property, utility requirements, homeowner objectives, available roof area, energy usage, financing program, economics, and other relevant factors.
5. Utility Bills and Energy Information
You may provide LuNova with electricity bills, electricity usage information, utility-provider information, account-related information, or other energy data.
You represent that you are authorized to provide any information submitted to LuNova.
LuNova may use this information to evaluate electricity usage, estimate solar production requirements, estimate savings, develop preliminary system recommendations, or assist in preparing a solar proposal.
Submission of a utility bill does not authorize LuNova to make changes to your utility account unless separate authorization is expressly provided.
6. Solar Production
Solar production estimates are projections and are not guarantees.
Actual production can vary due to weather, snow, shading, vegetation, equipment performance, equipment degradation, roof conditions, system availability, utility curtailment, maintenance, changes to the property, and other conditions.
Any production guarantee applicable to an installed solar system must be expressly stated in the applicable installation, lease, PPA, warranty, or other project agreement.
7. Electricity Savings
Any savings displayed or discussed by LuNova are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in a separate written contract.
Actual savings depend on factors including:
- Utility electricity rates;
- Utility rate structures;
- Taxes and fees;
- Net-metering rules;
- Electricity consumption;
- Solar production;
- System ownership structure;
- Financing costs;
- PPA or lease escalators;
- Incentives;
- Utility policy changes; and
- Future regulatory changes.
Past utility-rate increases do not guarantee future increases.
LuNova does not guarantee that solar will eliminate a homeowner's utility bill.
Customers may continue to receive utility charges after installing solar.
8. Solar Incentives and Illinois Shines
Information regarding Illinois Shines, Renewable Energy Credits ("RECs"), rebates, utility programs, tax incentives, grants, or other financial incentives is provided for informational purposes.
Program rules, incentive amounts, eligibility requirements, funding levels, application procedures, REC prices, and deadlines can change.
LuNova does not guarantee that any customer or project will qualify for or receive a particular incentive unless expressly stated in a separate binding agreement.
Participation in Illinois Shines may require additional disclosures and documentation.
Any applicable Illinois Shines Disclosure Form or other required consumer document is separate from these website Terms.
These Terms are not an Illinois Shines Disclosure Form and are not a substitute for one.
9. Taxes and Tax Incentives
LuNova Solar does not provide tax, accounting, or legal advice.
Any discussion of federal, state, or local tax incentives is for general informational purposes only.
Eligibility for tax credits or other tax benefits depends on individual circumstances and applicable law.
Customers should consult a qualified tax professional regarding eligibility and tax consequences before making a financial decision based on an anticipated tax benefit.
10. Financing
Solar loans and other financing products may be provided by independent third-party financial institutions.
All financing is subject to the financing provider's underwriting criteria, credit approval, program availability, terms, conditions, and documentation.
LuNova does not guarantee:
- Financing approval;
- A particular interest rate;
- A particular monthly payment;
- A particular loan term;
- A particular dealer fee;
- A particular credit requirement; or
- Continued availability of any financing program.
Final financing terms are determined by the applicable financing provider.
11. Power Purchase Agreements, Leases and Third-Party Ownership
LuNova may provide information about power purchase agreements ("PPAs"), leases, or other third-party ownership arrangements.
The third-party provider's agreement controls the actual terms of such arrangements.
Terms may include payment amounts, escalators, contract duration, transfer provisions, equipment ownership, maintenance obligations, purchase options, termination provisions, and other conditions.
Customers should carefully review all applicable agreements and required disclosures before signing.
12. Batteries and Energy Storage
Battery-storage estimates are based on available information and assumptions concerning the property, electrical loads, desired backup capability, battery capacity, and equipment specifications.
No battery system can guarantee uninterrupted electrical service under every condition.
Backup duration varies based on household electrical consumption, battery state of charge, system configuration, equipment limitations, weather, solar production, and other factors.
13. Roof and Property Conditions
Preliminary solar designs do not constitute a structural inspection, roof certification, engineering analysis, electrical inspection, or guarantee regarding the condition of a property.
Additional work may be required before installation, including:
- Roof replacement or repair;
- Tree trimming or removal;
- Electrical-panel upgrades;
- Service upgrades;
- Structural work;
- Trenching;
- Utility work;
- Code-required improvements; or
- Other site-specific work.
Any such work and associated costs will be governed by the applicable project agreement.
14. Third-Party Contractors and Providers
LuNova may work with or refer customers to independent solar installers, Approved Vendors, financing companies, PPA providers, equipment manufacturers, utilities, software providers, contractors, and other third parties.
Where another company enters into an agreement directly with the customer, that company's agreement governs its products and services.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, LuNova is not responsible for the independent acts, omissions, warranties, financing decisions, or contractual obligations of third parties.
15. No Utility or Government Affiliation
Unless expressly stated otherwise, LuNova Solar is an independent business.
LuNova is not a utility company and does not represent that it is employed by or acting on behalf of a utility, government agency, or regulatory authority.
References to utilities, government programs, Illinois Shines, incentives, or other programs do not imply government or utility endorsement of LuNova.
16. Website Account and Submission Accuracy

You should not knowingly submit false, fraudulent, misleading, or unauthorized information.
LuNova may decline to provide estimates or services when submitted information appears incomplete, inaccurate, fraudulent, or outside our service area.

20. Website Availability
We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or update portions of the website at any time.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
Solar-estimation tools may occasionally produce incomplete or inaccurate results because of unavailable data, technical errors, third-party data limitations, or other circumstances.
21. No Warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and preliminary online services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
LuNova does not warrant that preliminary website calculations will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for every property or customer.

22. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, LuNova will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising solely from use of, or inability to use, the website or reliance on preliminary website information.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
Rights and remedies provided under a separately executed solar, financing, PPA, lease, installation, or other agreement remain subject to that agreement and applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive any non-waivable rights or protections provided to consumers under applicable federal, Illinois, or local law.
If any provision conflicts with a mandatory consumer-protection requirement, the mandatory requirement controls.
27. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where federal law applies.
28. Changes to These Terms
LuNova may update these Terms periodically.
The current version will be posted on the website with an updated "Last Updated" date.
Continued use of the website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
29. Severability
If a provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
30. Entire Website Agreement
These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the general agreement governing use of the LuNova website.
They do not replace or modify a separately executed installation agreement, financing agreement, PPA, lease, Illinois Shines Disclosure Form, warranty, or other project-specific agreement.
