Solar Estimate, Production & Savings Disclaimer
Effective Date: August 15, 2026
Last Updated: August 15, 2026
JV Solar LLC, DBA LuNova Solar ("LuNova Solar," "LuNova," "we," "us," or "our") provides solar estimates, energy analyses, system-sizing recommendations, production projections, savings calculations, and related information to help homeowners evaluate potential solar-energy options.
The information provided through LuNova's website, quote tools, optimization tools, reports, emails, consultations, and other communications is preliminary unless expressly incorporated into a final written agreement.
1. Preliminary Estimates
Solar results generated or presented by LuNova may include estimates concerning:
- Recommended system size;
- Number of solar panels;
- Annual solar production;
- Solar offset percentage;
- Historical electricity consumption;
- Anticipated future electricity consumption;
- Electricity costs;
- Potential savings;
- Battery requirements;
- System pricing;
- Financing payments;
- PPA or lease payments;
- Utility-rate assumptions;
- Available incentives; and
- Other project characteristics.
These calculations are estimates and are not guarantees of actual system performance, savings, costs, or financial results.
2. LuNova System-Sizing Methodology
LuNova may analyze a homeowner's historical electricity consumption together with other available information to estimate an appropriate solar-system size.
Where relevant information is available, LuNova may also consider anticipated changes to future electricity consumption rather than applying a fixed solar-offset percentage to every property.
Factors considered may include:
- Historical electricity consumption;
- Seasonal usage;
- Electric vehicles;
- Heat pumps;
- Electric water heating;
- Electric appliances;
- Pools, spas, heaters, or chillers;
- Home additions;
- Changes in occupancy;
- Battery storage;
- Planned electrification; and
- Other reasonably anticipated changes in electricity consumption.
A recommended target offset may therefore vary by homeowner and property.
No particular offset percentage, including 100%, 110%, or another percentage, is automatically appropriate for every customer.
3. Solar Offset
"Solar offset" generally represents estimated solar production compared with estimated electricity consumption over a specified period.
For example, an estimated 110% offset generally means projected solar production equals approximately 110% of the electricity consumption used in that calculation.
It does not mean the system is 110% efficient.
It also does not guarantee that the system will produce exactly that amount of electricity or eliminate the homeowner's utility bill.
4. Solar Production Estimates
Production projections may rely on information concerning:
- Geographic location;
- Solar irradiance;
- Roof orientation;
- Roof pitch;
- Shading;
- Satellite or aerial imagery;
- Weather information;
- Panel specifications;
- Inverter specifications;
- System size;
- Equipment efficiency;
- Estimated system losses; and
- Other modeling assumptions.
Actual solar production may be higher or lower than estimated.
5. Factors Affecting Actual Production
Actual production may be affected by circumstances including:
- Weather;
- Cloud cover;
- Snow;
- Ice;
- Smoke or atmospheric conditions;
- Tree growth;
- New construction or shading;
- Roof changes;
- Equipment degradation;
- Equipment failure;
- Inverter downtime;
- Utility curtailment;
- Maintenance;
- Soiling;
- System configuration;
- Installation conditions; and
- Other factors outside LuNova's control.
6. Historical and Future Energy Consumption
Historical electricity consumption does not guarantee future consumption.
A homeowner's usage may increase or decrease substantially after installation.
LuNova may incorporate anticipated future consumption when information concerning future electrical loads is provided.
Any prediction of future consumption remains an estimate.
7. Utility Rates
Utility-rate information may be based on current rates, historical rates, publicly available information, customer utility bills, estimates, or third-party data.
Electricity rates, delivery charges, taxes, riders, supply charges, fees, rate structures, and other utility costs can change.
LuNova does not control utility pricing and does not guarantee future utility rates or rate increases.
8. Savings Estimates
Estimated savings depend on assumptions that may change.
Actual savings can be affected by:
- Solar production;
- Household electricity consumption;
- Utility rates;
- Net-metering or compensation rules;
- Taxes and fees;
- Financing terms;
- PPA or lease terms;
- Escalators;
- Incentive eligibility;
- System downtime;
- Equipment performance; and
- Regulatory changes.
Savings projections should not be interpreted as guaranteed investment returns.
9. Remaining Utility Bills
Installing solar does not necessarily eliminate a utility bill.
Customers may continue to incur charges including customer charges, minimum charges, taxes, riders, delivery charges, electricity purchases, demand-related charges where applicable, or other utility charges.
The amount and nature of these charges depend on the applicable utility tariff and customer circumstances.
10. Roof and Property Analysis
Online roof analysis, mapping, imagery, and solar modeling do not constitute a physical roof inspection, structural inspection, engineering analysis, electrical inspection, property appraisal, or roofing certification.
Final system design may change after an on-site inspection, engineering review, utility review, permitting review, installer assessment, or other project-specific evaluation.
11. Equipment
Equipment displayed in preliminary estimates may be illustrative or subject to availability.
Panel, inverter, battery, racking, electrical, or other equipment may change before a final project agreement is executed.
Final equipment specifications are governed by the applicable written project agreement.
12. Battery Storage
Estimated battery backup duration depends on system configuration and electrical consumption.
Battery performance may vary based on:
- Battery capacity;
- State of charge;
- Household loads;
- Solar production;
- Weather;
- Equipment limitations;
- Battery degradation; and
- Backup configuration.
No battery system guarantees indefinite or uninterrupted electrical service.
13. Third-Party Data
LuNova may use information from mapping providers, solar-resource databases, utilities, government programs, equipment manufacturers, installers, or other third parties.
LuNova cannot guarantee that all third-party information is complete, current, or error-free.
14. Preliminary Results vs. Final Proposal
Results produced through the LuNova website should be treated as preliminary.
Final project specifications may change following:
- Utility-bill verification;
- Site inspection;
- Roof inspection;
- Engineering;
- Electrical review;
- Utility interconnection review;
- Financing approval;
- Incentive review;
- Equipment availability; and
- Installer approval.
The final signed project documents control if they differ from a preliminary LuNova estimate.
15. No Performance Guarantee
Unless expressly provided in a separate written agreement, LuNova does not guarantee:
- A particular annual production level;
- A particular solar offset;
- A particular utility bill;
- A particular level of savings;
- A particular utility rate;
- A particular property-value increase;
- A particular return on investment; or
- A particular payback period.
Any contractual production guarantee or warranty is governed exclusively by the agreement containing that guarantee.

2. Illinois Shines
LuNova may provide information concerning Illinois Shines, also known as the Adjustable Block Program.
Participation and incentive eligibility are subject to current program rules and applicable project requirements.
A preliminary LuNova estimate of Illinois Shines or REC value does not constitute approval of an application or a guarantee of payment.
3. Renewable Energy Credits
The estimated value of RECs may depend on factors including:
- Project type;
- System size;
- Program category;
- Applicable REC price;
- Estimated production;
- Program rules; and
- Contractual arrangements.
The amount ultimately associated with a project may differ from an initial estimate.
4. Illinois Shines Disclosure Forms
Customers participating in applicable Illinois Shines projects may receive a program-required Disclosure Form.
The Disclosure Form contains important information concerning the proposed project and should be reviewed carefully.
LuNova's website, estimates, calculators, marketing materials, Terms & Conditions, and disclaimers do not replace an Illinois Shines Disclosure Form or other documentation required by the program.
5. Utility Incentives and Rebates
Certain utilities or programs may offer incentives related to solar equipment, inverters, battery storage, smart inverters, electrical upgrades, or other technologies.
Availability and eligibility depend on the applicable program.
A rebate displayed or discussed by LuNova should not be treated as guaranteed until eligibility and program requirements have been confirmed.
6. Battery Incentives
Battery-storage incentive programs may be subject to specific technical, utility, program, interconnection, operational, or equipment requirements.
The inclusion of a battery incentive in an estimate does not guarantee that the customer or equipment will qualify.
7. Tax Incentives
LuNova does not provide tax advice.
Tax incentives depend on applicable law and the customer's individual circumstances.
The availability, amount, timing, and eligibility requirements of federal, state, or local tax incentives may change.
Customers should consult a qualified tax professional regarding their eligibility before relying on a tax benefit in making a purchasing decision.
8. Ownership Matters
Eligibility for certain incentives may depend on who owns the solar system.
Customers using a PPA, lease, or other third-party ownership arrangement may not personally receive incentives or tax benefits that would otherwise be associated with system ownership.
The applicable contract and program rules determine ownership of incentives, RECs, tax benefits, rebates, and other financial benefits.
9. Timing of Incentive Payments
Incentive payments may not be received immediately.
Application processing, project completion, verification, utility approval, program approval, REC delivery requirements, or other conditions may affect payment timing.
LuNova does not guarantee the date on which a third-party incentive will be paid.
10. Estimated Net Cost
When LuNova displays an estimated "net cost" after incentives, the calculation may assume that the customer qualifies for and ultimately receives specified incentives.
An estimated net cost should not be interpreted as the amount the customer will necessarily pay at closing or installation.
Customers may be required to pay or finance amounts before receiving an incentive.
11. Program Approval
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into an incentive program.
Approval is determined according to the applicable program's rules and processes.
12. Changes After an Estimate
If an incentive changes after LuNova prepares a preliminary estimate, the economics of the project may also change.
Customers should review current incentive information and final project documentation before entering into a binding agreement.
13. No Government or Utility Endorsement
References to Illinois Shines, Illinois government programs, utilities, rebates, tax incentives, or other programs do not imply that LuNova Solar is endorsed by a government agency or utility.
LuNova is an independent business unless expressly identified otherwise in applicable program documentation.
14. Professional Advice
Solar incentive programs can involve financial, tax, legal, contractual, and regulatory considerations.
Customers should consult qualified professionals regarding matters outside LuNova's scope of services.
